Known by many names in the office, including Spencer (his middle name), John started life as Dancin’ John after his mom went into labor with him during a drum corps performance at the Dubuque Symphony. To hone his craft as an editor, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Media from Loras College, became a RED-certified camera operator and an FAA-certified drone pilot, and spent many hours editing his own projects. Most recently, he received the Award of Excellence for Editing for his experimental short film, Bella, from the Iowa Motion Picture Awards. Among other honors, the film was also a finalist for the Andy Warhol Award for the Best Experimental Film at the BLOW-UP International Arthouse Filmfest in Chicago. Music is still his first love, and when he’s not editing videos, he can be found playing guitar and writing music.
